How to Cook/Use Cauliflower
Cauliflower is in the same food family as broccoli as you can probably tell. While cauliflower looks like a white piece of broccoli, they do have different tastes and textures. There is a wide variety of ways to use cauliflower. Some basic and some very creative. Check some out below:
Cauliflower Rice
Ingredients:
– 1 head of cauliflower
– 2 tablespoons of olive oil
Directions:
– Cut head of cauliflower into florets
-Little bits at a time, place cauliflower into a food processor and pulse
You can eat this cold or warm by sauteing in a pan. Mix with meat, beans, and/or other veggies to make it a complete meal.
Mashed Pota…we mean…Cauliflower
Ingredients:
– 1 head of cauliflower (cut into florets)
– 1 tablespoon of olive oil
– 1 clove of garlic
– 1/4 cup of Parmesan cheese
– 1 tablespoon of (reduced fat) cream cheese
– Pepper to taste
Directions:
– Steam cauliflower for 10 minutes
– In a separate pan, heat olive oil up and cook garlic clove until soft
– Place half of cauliflower into food processor and blend
– Add the rest of the cauliflower (little amounts at a time) along with the cooked garlic, Parmesan cheese, cream cheese, and black pepper
– Blend until smooth and creamy
